Pancakes are so versatile! Try one of these interesting toppings to make a real treat.

Everyone loves pancakes. Pancakes are one of the few extremely versatile foods. You can have savory ones, or sweet ones, and everything in between. The pancake originated in ancient Egypt and almost every culture has their own version of it. But the best thing about them is the wide variety of toppings you can put on them.

Apples Foster

Slice some apples, any kind, and sauté them in a pan with some butter until halfway soft. Add some brown sugar and cook until it is melted. Spoon over pancakes. Scrumptious!

Peanut Butter and Chocolate

Melt one cup of chocolate chips, ½ cup of creamy peanut butter, and 3 tablespoons of butter in the microwave, for 30 seconds. When all is melted together, drizzle over pancakes.

Cinnamon Pecan

Warm ½ cup of syrup and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon in the microwave. Pour over pancakes, and add chopped roasted pecans. If you have sugar glazed pecans, even better.

Orange Glaze

Melt 1 tablespoon butter in microwave. Add 1 cup of powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons orange juice. Drizzle over pancakes.

You can flavor your pancakes to make even more combinations. Blueberry pancakes are good with the orange glaze and with the cinnamon pecan. You can cut up cranberries to use with the orange glaze. You can even use chocolate chips in a pancake and use only a peanut butter glaze. As you can see, the possibilities are endless Give pancakes a try. You won’t be sorry.
