Tarra’s Way of Cooking Puto
Puto is popular in the Philippines and is enjoyed as breakfast or snack. Here’s how to do it.

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 ½ cups sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup cheese, grated
1 cup raisins
½ cup pineapple chunks
1 ½ cup water
3 drops vanilla (optional)
Procedures:
- Sift flour, baking powder, and sugar.
- Beat eggs in a bowl. Add the sifted ingredients.
- Add the cheese, raisins, chunks, vanilla, and water. Mix thoroughly.
- Place in llanera or puto molders, then steam over low heat for about 20-25 minutes.
