In preparing a cocktail one should ensure that it synchronizes with the meals being served. Whether a vegetarian, beef or chicken recipes, the cocktail should measure up to the standards.

There are variations of cocktails that can be prepared from drinks such as whisky, gin, brandy, rum or vodka. The cocktail prepared should be in line with the dinner’s preference and the meal in question. For example, men’s cocktails are normally stiffer and stronger than women’s. This will include vodka or brandy in the mix for the gents while the ladies can be treated to gimlet or superbly matured brandy with lemonade and sweets. However, one should strive as much as possible to have their cocktails as light and smooth as possible.

There are various cocktails that can be prepared for a party includes Manhattan, gin and it, martini, scotch, Campari and Martinez. Cocktails like Manhattan and martini are legendary and have stood the test of time. The only precaution to be taken is that the ratios of the ingredients used should be moderated to avoid any mess with the resultant drink. For example, if one is to prepare a cocktail that has vodka, the amounts of vodka used should be rationed. This is import since one is having a cocktail party and not a drinking spree.

These light refreshing cocktails can be prepared by anyone as their preparation is not that involving. Most of these cocktails can be taken with any meal but are best suited for specific meals. E.g. gin and it will go down well with any chicken recipes while vegetarian dishes work out well with martini.

The Tabasco is layered between the Sambuca and Tequila or allowed to drip through the two liquors.  Different visual effects will be created depending on when the Tabasco sauce is added. If the Tabasco sauce is added over the Sambuca, a flat red line may be formed. If the Tabasco sauce is dripped into the drink over the tequila, the overall visual effect should give the impression of dispersed blood drops or a jellyfish.

In order to make a Flatliner shot, you will need the following ingredients in the following proportions:

  • 1 jigger of sambuca
  • 1 shot of gold tequila
  • 3 dashes of Tabasco® sauce

Either, layer the tequila over the sambuca in a large shot glass or old-fashioned glass and drip the Tabasco sauce over the Tequila allowing it to drip through the two liquors.   The shot will look like drops of blood or a jellyfish.

Or pour the Sambuca into a large shot glass or old-fashioned glass, then add the Tabasco sauce, and then layer the Tequila on top.  This will give the image of a red flat line.

Since most people cannot afford a $350 bottle of Champagne–especially for making a cocktail, generic Champagne works just as well.  If you want to make your own “Thug Passion” like 2Pac, follow the recipe below.

In order to make a Thug Passion, you will need the following ingredients in the following proportions:

  • 2 oz of Alize® liqueur
  • 2 oz of Champagne or sparkling wine (sparkling wine made anywhere but Champagne, France is not legally able to call itself Champagne, but typically has the same components and flavors)

Shake the ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker.

Strain and pour into a champagne flute and serve. Enjoy!
