Serve this one cold or warm.
Ingredients
- 3 cups of whole milk
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 1 stick of melted butter
- 1 ½ cups of sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup of raisins
- ¼ cup of walnuts
- 1 bag of semi sweet chocolate chips
Method
One loaf of your favorite bread. (Challah, French, Italian, etc..) cut into ¼ inch slices.
Step one: Warm milk and butter (do not boil) in a heavy pot. Whisk in brown sugar, sugar, eggs, condensed milk, and vanilla.
Step two: Line a metal nonstick pan with ½ of your bread slices. Overlap them slightly so that you can not see the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with half of the chocolate chips, raisins, and walnuts.
Step three: Cover with other half of bread slices.
Step four: Sprinkle the top with the other half of chocolate chips, raisins, and walnuts.
Step five: Pour warm milk mixture over the entire top. Be sure to cover the entire dish we the mixture. Everything should be wet by it.
Step six: Let stand for 5-10 minutes. Then cover with aluminum foil and bake one hour in a 350 degree oven.
Step seven: Uncover and bake 10- 15 more minutes.
You can choose to serve this two ways:
One: top with chocolate sauce and serve hot.
Two: Refrigerate for three hours and serve cold. Top with hot chocolate sauce.
Chocolate sauce
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Heat cream in heavy boiler just till warm (do not boil.) Stir chocolate chips in and cover with a lid for 2-4 minutes. Stir. If all the chips have not melted into the cream, replace lid for another 2 minutes and then stir again.

Thank you for sharing such a delicious recipe. I love bread pudding. I go with my family members every now and then to one of our many local buffett restaurants where they offer bread pudding. It is one of my most favorite desserts. You recipe makes me hungry for some bread pudding right now, after reading about it here. Great work.
Take Care,
