Banana Split Brownie Pizza

published by PR Mace on Jan 5, 2009

A new twist turns a banana split into a dessert pizza.

Okay, so you are looking for a really different dessert. You have a party to attend and you are tired of the same old pies, cakes and cookies. Well, show up with a Banana Split Brownie Pizza and you will be the life of the party. It’s easy, fatten and oh so delicious.

Ingredients

1 20-oz box of your favorite brownie mix ( plus ingredients to prepare)

1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened.

1 8-oz can crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice for later.

2 tablespoons of sugar.

2 bananas, sliced and tossed in lemon juice to prevent browning.

1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced.

1 cup chopped nuts. I like pecans or walnuts.

Chocolate syrup for drizzling.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a standard size pizza pan. Prepare brownie mix according to directions on box. Pour onto pizza pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Mix softened cream cheese, drained pineapple and sugar in a bowl. Use reserved pineapple juice to soften mixture to a good consistency for spreading. Spread over brownie crust. Arrange banana and strawberry slices over cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and chocolate syrup. Refrigerate. Cut into pizza slices. If desired add a scoop or two of chocolate ice cream. Enjoy! Serves 8 to 10.
