Chocolate Banana Cake

A cake to make you wander, if ripe banana’s be good in a cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup butter or shortening
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup mashed ripe banana pulp
  • 1 cup chocolate chips,melted

Method

Cream the butter or shortening gradually. Add brown sugar and beat well until light or fluffy. Add eggs and blend well. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the banana pulp a little at a time. Beat after each addition only until smooth. Pour half the batter into a greased or lined 8″ square cake pan. Melt chocolate chips in a sauce pan and spread over batter. Cover with remaining batter and bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Frost with butter frosting.

Butter Frosting

  • 1/8 cup  butter                                                                       
  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Cream butter. Gradually add icing sugar and milk alternately to make spreading consistency. Add vanilla.

    i disagree with the chocolate.
