Chocolate Cake
I wanted to bake something chocolate; something not heavy or too sweet. This recipe for a very moist and rich and light chocolate cake was my choice. My creative side was put to use when I went to "dust" the top with powdered sugar…

1 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup Cocoa
1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
3/4 Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed solid
1/4 Cup Butter, room temperature
3 Egg Whites
1 Cup Vanilla Yogurt
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 Extra-large Egg
1 Tbsp. milk
1 Ounce Semi-sweet Chocolate, chopped coarsely
2-3 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar

Preheat over to 350 degrees. Preheat oven to 350. Spray an 8 inch round pan with nonstick spray and line the bottom of the pan with wax paper and spray the wax paper with nonstick spray.
Sift flour, cocoa, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and the salt together. In separate bowl combine sugar and butter and beat until blended. Add egg whites, one at a time, beating well after each is added. Add yogurt, vanilla and whole egg and beat thoroughly. Add flour mixture slowly and beat until fully combined and mixed. Pour batter mixture into prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes in pan before inverting onto a serving plate.
Glaze:
Mix together semi-sweet chocolate and milk and place in microwave oven for 30 seconds on high or until chocolate melts. Cool and spread on top of the cake. Let the glaze set for 30 minutes and sprinkle with powdered sugar.*
*NOTE: place fork and knife gently on top of cake prior to sprinkling the powered sugar for the added presentation!
