Chocolate cakes are a treat to both eyes and mouth. Dark chocolate cake finely decorated with cherries and nicely frosted is just a beautiful sight to watch, leave aside the delicious taste it has. It is easy to prepare too. If prepared well and with little care, it tastes as good as the one you have eaten at a bakery.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup oil(vegetable oil preferably)
  • 1/2 cup coco powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour(all purpose flour)
  • a pinch of salt

Frosting

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon(ground)
  • 1/2 cup finely cut walnuts and cherries
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Glazing

  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • some chocolate chips

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, oil, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix the ingredients well until all the ingredients are mixed well.
  2. Add coco powder and beat well.
  3. Now add eggs to the mixture, one after one and continue beating the mixture.
  4. Beat the mixture till it becomes fluffy.
  5. Now add flour to this mixtured ingredients in little quantities at a time. Add milk in between these additions and continue beating.
  6. Now, spread the mixture on a tube pan only to some level. On this layer, spread the ingredients taken for frosting. Don’t use everything at a time and spare some quantity for next filling.
  7. Now spread some more mixture on this layer and spread the remaining frosting ingredients on this.
  8. Now, bake the cake at 350 degrees for about 45 to 55 minutes(or after successful tooth pick test).
  9. After taking out the pan from oven, let it cool for about 15 minutes. Now turn it down on a plate and let it cool for 45 more minutes.
  10. Now cut the top layer and spread cream over it.
  11. Mix the ingredients taken for glazing in a pan on heat. Spread the melted glaze on the cake.

The delicious chocolate cherry cake will be ready to serve or eat.

Mmmmmmmmmm. Sounds tasty. I’m have to try this recipe. Can you substitute cherries for strawberries?
