Eggnog Pound Cake-prepared in Under Six Minutes and Ready for The Oven

published by diamondpoet on Dec 5, 2009

This is the best pound cake I ever tasted.

I found and made this recipe today, best pound cake I ever tasted. For a moister cake, purchase 1 box of Jello Instant Pudding (Cheesecake). The recipe doesn’t call for it, but I added 2 tbsp. (optional).  The finished product with the pudding, produced a moister cake. This part was my idea, so I guess that this is my new improved recipe. The children will love this cake for the holiday, as well as the adults.

1 (16-oz) package pound cake mix

1 1/4 cup eggnog

2 large eggs

1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

2 tbsp. Jello Instant Pudding (Cheesecake).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Beat all ingredients until blended.  Increase speed to medium, and beat 2 minutes.  Pour into a lightly greased 9-z 5-inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour and 5 minutes or until a long wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes.  Remove from pan to wire rack, and cool completely. (about 1 hour).

**** Or just remove from pan and place on decorated holiday plate, after cool****

You better make 2. May husband won’t stop eating the one I prepared.

I need an English translation please, what is a pound cake? Does anyone know what we call it here? I would like to try it but they don’t sell anything called pound cake mix here.

    Frances:
A traditional pound cake is a very simple recipe: 1 lb flour, 1 lb sugar, 1 lb butter, 1 lb eggs plus a small amount of flavouring, such as vanilla. You could try a plain cake mix, if those are available where you live. Otherwise try this recipe, leaving out the pecans: http://notecook.com/desserts/cakes/pecan-pound-cake/ as your base.
