How to Make an Angel Food Cake
Ingredients and procedures of how to make an angel food cake.
Ingredients (prosper vs lending club)
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 1/2 cups of superfine granulated sugar
- 10 whites of eggs
- 2 tables spoon of water or ( 1 water and 1 lemon juice )
- 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon of almond
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Method
- The first thing to do is to separate egg whites from the yolks.
- Then sift the sugar.
- Sift the flour before measuring, add salt and re sift at least three (3) times to incorporate air and lighten the cake.
- Using water or with juice, beat the egg whites until it become foamy.
- Next, add cream of tartar and beat again till it become stiff and shiny.
- Beat the ingredients adding 1 teaspoon at a time.
- Add vanilla and almond extract.
- Fold gently until the sugar and flour are well-blended with the egg whites. ( Note: The cake will become heavy if become over mixed and coare if it is under mixed.)
- Put the batter in an ungreased 9-inch pan.
- Bake it in a low to moderate temperature about 300-325 degree Fahrenheit for about an hour.
