How to Make an Angel Food Cake

Ingredients and procedures of how to make an angel food cake.

Ingredients (prosper vs lending club)

  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of superfine granulated sugar
  • 10 whites of eggs
  • 2 tables spoon of water or ( 1 water and 1 lemon juice )
  • 1 teaspoon of cream of  tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon of almond
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Method

  1. The first thing to do is to separate egg whites from the yolks.
  2. Then sift the sugar.
  3. Sift the flour before measuring, add salt and re sift at least three (3) times to incorporate air and lighten the cake.
  4. Using water or with juice, beat the egg whites until it become foamy.
  5. Next, add cream of tartar and beat again till it become stiff and shiny.
  6. Beat the ingredients adding 1 teaspoon at a time.
  7. Add vanilla and almond extract.
  8. Fold gently until the sugar and flour are well-blended with the egg whites. ( Note: The cake will become heavy if become over mixed and coare if it is under mixed.)
  9. Put the batter in an ungreased 9-inch pan.
  10. Bake it in a low to moderate temperature about 300-325 degree Fahrenheit for about an hour.
