I Love This Fruit Cake for Christmas
This is the best fruit cake that I ever had, I love this fruit cake for Christmas and hope you like it too..
Christmas dinner isn’t complete without a fruit cake. Fruit cakes are sold expensively during this festive season due to high demand of fruit cakes as it is one of the most popular item to be given away as gifts or to be served at Christmas reception or just simply for self consumption during this Christmas season.
There are wide varieties of fruit cakes sold in the shops now, those imported from overseas are extremely expensive because of its quality and brand, we would have to think twice before buying it.
Under this situation, I am glad that I am able to make a marvaleous fruit cake for Christmas by using a very simply recipe which I have been using again and again. That also enable me to give fruit cake as Christmas gift this year. Here is the super easy fruit cake recipe that I have ever made, I love the texture, hope you like it too..
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 210gm butter
- 20gm brown sugar
- 300gm raisins
- 300gm mixed fruits
- 2 tsp mix spice
- 1.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 2 2/3 cups of flour (sieved)
- 5 eggs
Method:
- In a sauce pot, mix items 1 – 6, bring to boil, reduce heat.
- add in bicarbonate of soda, stir to reduce the bubbles and off fire. Let cool.
- add in the flour alternately with eggs, mix well.
- bake at 180C for 35-40 mins. Let cool.
- sieve icing sugar on top of the cake and decorate with christmas cake decorations. A Christmas fruit cake is done in front of your eyes.
Happy baking & Merry Christmas to you!!

Around this time of year is the only time that I allow myself to eat fruitcake. I don’t want to become addicted.

This recipe looks SO easy. I buy my cake from a local charity each year, always very yummy and not too expensive.
