Merry Cherry Nut Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines Deluxe cherry cake mix
  • 1 (4 serving size) pkg. Vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1 ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup Crisco oil
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour 10-inch tubular pan.
  3. Put dry cake mix, instant pudding mix, buttermilk, eggs, and oil into large mixer bowl.
  4. Prepare cake as directed on package.
  5. Mix in coconut and pecans.
  6. Turn batter into pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.
  8. Cool for 1 hour in pan on rack.
  9. Remove cake from pan and let stand overnight before serving.
  10. Sprinkle the top of this cake with confectioner’s sugar.
  11. Great cake for dessert or as chilly holiday morning indulgence.
