Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich with Chocolate

Elvis Presley was said to have loved peanut butter banana sandwiches. This is a version of that sandwich, only made with Nutella, a chocolate and hazlenut spread. Because these sandwiches are so rich, not to mention high in calories, I recommend serving them in small pieces. They’re delicious with a nice, tall glass of milk.
Ingredients
- 2 slices white or wheat bread
- 2 Tbsp smooth or chunky peanut butter
- 1 ripe banana, sliced
- 2 Tbsp Nutella (chocolate and hazlenut spread)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
Method
- Remove crusts from bread. Spread one slice generously with peanut butter.
- Place sliced bananas on top of the peanut butter.
- Spread Nutella on top of the banana/peanut butter mixture. Close the sandwich by placing the second slice of bread on top. Press down so that the ingredients remain firmly together.
- Pour oil in a skillet heated to medium heat. Fry the sandich in oil until one side turns golden brown, then flip and fry the other side. It should take about 3 minutes per side.
- Let cool and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Cut into quarters.
