Recipe for Pound Cake With Grilled Bananas.
This recipe is a very simple recipe that uses already made pound cake to make a very easy outdoor dessert that you prepare out on the grill.
Pound Cake with Grilled Bananas
1 Already made pound Cake (can be found in the freezer section of most grocery stores)
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of whipped cream
Additional cinnamon for garnish
Mix the cinnamon and the sugar together with a spoon in a medium sized mixing bowl and set aside.
Turn the grill on and set it to medium and let it heat up, of course if the grill is already on turn the temperature to medium and you are ready to start cooking the bananas, if the grill was cold let it heat up a bit before starting to cook the bananas. Once the grill is ready place the bananas on the grill they should still be in the peel. You will need to turn the bananas a lot as the peel will become burned and blackened and will start to disappear.
After 20 minutes remove the bananas from the grill and carefully and remove any remaining peel and then cut in to slices, move along quickly so the bananas slices stay hot. Then place the banana slices in the bowl with the sugar and cinnamon and lightly toss them about to coat them with the mixture. While the bananas are still warm add in the 1/4 cup of whipped cream to give it a bit of a saucy feel.
Slice the Pound cake in to individual slices and top each slice with some of the banana mixture. Top with a bit more whipped cream and sprinkle a little cinnamon on to each individual serving for garnish and added flavor.
