Royal Wedding Official Cake Designer
The official cake designer for the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. A detail on how the cake would be like and who is providing for the reception at the Buckingham Palace.
Prince William of Wales and Miss Kate Middleton have officially selected Fiona Cairns to be their official cake designer. Leicestershire-based cake designer is the one to create the royal couple’s wedding cake.
The wedding cake would be one of style and class. It would be a traditional fruit multi-tiered cake.
Fiona Cairns is the owner of Fiona Cairns Ltd; a state of the art bakery in Leicestershire, the heart of the English countryside. Her business has been in operation for 25 years growing bigger and larger from her kitchen, garden then into a state of the art bakery.
Fiona Cairns bakery uses elements of the Joseph Lambeth technique which is widely used to make elegant cakes in its operation.
The wedding cake would be a one of traditional multi-tiered fruit with decorated cream and white icing. The cake would have a strong and typical British floral theme based on the Joseph Lambeth technique.
It is believed Fiona was chosen because she ha experience in this technique suitable for the Royal Wedding.
The would-be couples have also requested McVitie’s Cake Company to make the cake for the Reception at the Buckingham Palace. This cake would be a chocolate biscuit cake. This cake would be made from a Royal Recipe specially requested by Prince William.
McVitie’s Cake Company, a member of the United Biscuits Group is popularly known for making many wedding and christening cakes for members of the Royal Family. They have a long track record for producing for such occasions since the time of His Majesty King George V and Her Majesty Queen Mary.
Recently, they made the official wedding anniversary cake for The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in 2007.
