Strawberry and Cream White Cake

published by Holly J. Yarrington on Feb 25, 2009

This can be used with a plain white cake or homemade white cake.

Ingredients

  • You will need one white cake baked in 9′X13″  (Follow the directions on the box).
  • Poke holes in the cake.
  • 1 or 2 quart(s) of strawberries chopped
  • 2 tbsp of sugar for berries
  • Mix the berries with sugar
  • Chill the berries until they are juicier the better.
  • 1 pint of whipping cream.
  • 2 tbsp of sugar for whipping cream
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • Mix the cream, sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

Method

Take your berries and pour over top of cake, then of course frost over berries and cake with whipped cream.

NOTE:  You make use any berries or fruit which has juice.  Do not use too much juice because you may end up with a soggy cake.  If no juice I suppose you could cook down a little jam with some added water or juice and then brush on the cake with fruit of your choice.

This dessert is light and you may substitute artificial sweeteners.  It is very delightful for the summer months as well.  ENJOY.
