Strawberry Clouds

published by A Bromley on May 24, 2012

Here is a sensational, easy to prepare, tongue tantalizing dessert that is sure to be declared heavenly by even your most picky guest; heavenly clouds of strawberries and cream and a touch of chocolate if you choose…

STRAWBERRY CLOUDS

You will need a sponge cake or angel cake cut into slices to make this.

In a glass or metal mixing bowl combine

1 small container non-dairy topping (I use Cool Whip*)

1 small pkg. Strawberry flavored gelatin (I use Jell-O*)

Beat until well combined and refrigerate to chill about 1 hour or more

Meanwhile hull and slice

1 pint fresh strawberries reserving 1 whole berry for each cloud for garnish

Sprinkle strawberries lightly with a little sugar and refrigerate until ready to prepare your clouds.  Chill at least 30 minutes.

When ready to prepare your desserts (clouds)

Place one slice cake on each serving plate

Remove strawberries from refrigerator and stir

Top each slice of cake with the sliced strawberries

Top the strawberries with 3-4 good spoonfuls of your Cool Whip* mixture or form your strawberry cloud or by filling a pastry bag or a plastic sandwich bag with your Cool Whip* mixture, clip one corner of the sandwich bag and squeeze the mixture out over the strawberries to form cloud (something like a soft-serve ice cream might look; I usually use the plastic bag trick as it makes a very pretty dessert and you can really make it look like a pink strawberry cloud.)

Top with a whole strawberry for garnish and serve. (I have also drizzled just a little chocolate fudge sundae topping over the top before adding the whole strawberry for an added touch.  Chocolate and strawberry make a heavenly combination.
