Ingredients

1 box Devil’s Food cake mix

Eggs, see cake mix package for amounts

Vegetable oil, see cake mix package for amounts

Water, see cake mix package for amounts

1 box large chocolate instant pudding (Instant only)

3 cups milk

1/2-1 cup kahlua

6 large Heath bars (Butterfingers may be substituted), freeze ahead

1 large tub lite whipped topping (Allow to soften at room temp while preparing the cake mix)

Directions

Prepare and bake devil’s food cake mix according to your brand’s direction and bake in 2 round pans. You won’t need to allow total cooling before assembly. While cake bakes, prepare the other steps, assemble layers as soon as the cake is just cool enough to touch and crumble into chunks. Use blender to pulverize heath bars (freezing ahead allows them to pulverize quickly). Set aside in bowl. Put instant chocolate pudding into blender, add milk and khalua and blend. You do not need to clean blender between candy and pudding step. You may also double the pudding step if you prefer a moister dessert. Once you prepare these steps alternate layers in a large clear glass bowl. Begin by dribbling pudding and cool whip on sides and bottom of bowl, follow with cake layer (crumble into chunks), pudding, sprinkle candy, cool whip, crumbled cake, pudding, cool whip, and sprinkle of candy. Chill uncovered until serving. Serve using a large serving spoon to scoop onto dessert plate or bowl.
