Candy Apples

Now you don’t have to wait until the carnival comes to town to get a candy apple; just make them for yourself whenever you want!

Candy Apple Recipe

Ingredients:

-8 apples, sticks as well

-1 tbsp corn syrup

-1/2 tsp lemon extract

-2 cups brown sugar

-3/4 cups water

Directions:

Mix the sugar, corn syrup and water in a saucepan. Stir these together. Put the pan on heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Cook this until the heat reaches 290 degrees F. Take off of the heat and add the lemon extract. Submerge a skewered apple in the mixture. When you take it out, quickly dip it in ice water. Drain and place on an oiled pan. Do this until all apples are coated. Enjoy!

Makes 8 candied apples
