Chocolate Bread Pudding Recipe
A recipe for a classic Thanksgiving dessert.
Ingredients
- 12 Slices of day old bread.
- 4 Tablespoons of butter (melted)
- 1 cup raisins
- 8 eggs (beaten)
- 4 cups of milk
- Pinch of nutmeg
- ½ cup pure white sugar
- 1 Tsp of ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
- ½ cup of chopped apples
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Break bread into small pieces in a 9×9 baking pan
- Drizzle melted butter over the bread
- In medium bowl, combine: eggs, milk raisins, chopped apples, vanilla extract, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and chocolate chips
- Stir/Best until well mixed
- Pour mixture over bread and lightly push down with the back of a fork until the bread pieces are completely covered by the mixture
- The bread needs to soak up all of the mixture before placing in the oven
- Bake in pre-heated oven (uncovered) for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean when tested
