Chocolate Brownies

Recipe for chocolate brownies.

A delicious desert prepared in 35 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cocoa, unsweetened.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
  • 2/3 cup melted butter, divided.
  • 1/2 cup boiling water.
  •  2 eggs, lightly beaten.
  •  2 cups granulated sugar.
  •  1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour.
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  •  1/4 teaspoon salt.
  •  1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans.
  •  2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips.

Method

Take a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda, blend in 1/3 cup of melted butter. Add boiling water to it and stir until it becomes well blended. Stir in beaten eggs, sugar and remaining 1/3 cup of butter. Stir in salt and flour. Stir the chocolate chips and the nuts in the brownies batter. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 13×9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350°for 35-40 minutes or until the brownies are firm and begin to pull away from sides of the pan. Let them cool down before cutting them into squares.
