Chocolate Recipes: Best Ever Chocolate Pudding

Google "chocolate pudding" and over 1.5 million recipes will be returned. Everybody loves chocolate pudding! They are often rather bland and don’t have much chocolate flavour. Give this Best Ever Chocolate Pudding a try. It’s a delicious family dessert.

   Best Ever Chocolate Pudding   Cocoa bean

Ingredients:

*500 ml/ 2 c whole milk
*2 tbs cornflour/cornstarch
*2 tbs very strong coffee
*3 tbs granulated white or demerara sugar
*2 tbs Dutch-processed cocoa powder
*28 g/ 1 oz high-quality bitter/unsweetened chocolate, grated
*pinch of salt
*1 tsp natural vanilla essence/extract
*additional milk- or dark chocolate, shaved or grated

Preparation:

Combine a few tablespoons of the milk plus the cornflour in a small bowl. Break up any lumps. Set aside.

Mix the remaining milk, coffee, sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate and salt in a heavy saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the chocolate has melted, stirring occasionally.

Lower the heat. Add the cornflour mixture. Whisk thoroughly until smooth. Cook the Chocolate Pudding, stirring constantly, until it is just comes to the boil and gets thick. This may take several minutes.

Pour the Chocolate Pudding into a serving bowl or into individual dishes. Cover with clingfilm/plastic wrap, letting it touch the surface of the Chocolate Pudding to avoid a skin. Chill until set; about 2 hours.

When it’s  time to serve Best  Ever Chocolate Pudding, top with custard or whipped cream and the shaved/grated chocolate.

Try presenting Best Ever Chocolate Pudding with Italian biscotti, Anise biscotti, Biscochitos, Spritz Cookies, Churros or Sopaipillas.
