1/2 Cup shortening

1/2 cup margarine or butter (i use butter for richer flavor)

2 1/2 cups flour

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

15 oz bag of chocolate, white, Carmel etc.. chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  

In a large mixing bowl mix shortening, butter, sugar, and eggs until well blended.  Then add vanilla, baking soda, and the flour.  Blend well.  Then with a wood spoon stir in the 15 ounces of what ever kind of candy chip you chose.  Make balls of dough about 1 1/2 tablespoons worth and put on baking sheet.  Cookies need to bake for 9 minutes.
