Christmas Spritz Cookies

1 Cup Butter

1/2 Cup Sugar

2 1/3 Cup Flour

1 Extra Large Egg

1/2 Tsp. Salt

1 Tsp. Almond Extract

*** Red or Green food coloring can be added to mixture

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Cream butter and sugar.  Add remaining ingredients and blend together.  On an ungreased cookie sheet, place a small mound and press into a a round shape.  Bake 6-9 minutes or until set, but not brown!  These cookies come out with a light appearance.  This recipe can also be used in a cookie press, if that is your preference!

DFelicious. My mom makes these by putting the mixture into some kind of icing bag with a special tip and the cookie comes out looking like a wreath. I think she will like your recipe better as it is good sounding and easier to make,
