Cookies Your Family Will Love

Two cookie recipes: one for the kids and one for the kid in all of us!

Kid’s Want ‘em Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (white or semi-sweet)
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 cup M&M’s
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar with mixer on medium speed.

Add eggs and beat well. 

Add rest of ingredients and stir by hand. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Use an ice cream scoop for large soft cookies. Bake at 350` for 10-15 minutes.  Do not over bake!

Craisin Almond Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chopped fresh Craisins
  • 1 cup slivered almonds, 

Directions:

Preheat to 375 degrees.

With electric mixer set at medium speed, beat butter with sugars. Until well mixed.

Add vanilla extract and eggs, beating until blended.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Mix with mixer at medium speed until well blended.

Gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed after each addition. 

Stir in craisins and almonds by hand.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. 

Bake at 375° for 9 to 11 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
