Homemade Pecan Sandies

Delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients

 

2 sticks margarine, softened

1/3 c. sugar

2 tsp. water

2 tsp. vanilla extract

2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted

1 c. pecans, finely chopped

powdered sugar

 

Method

 

Cream the margarine and sugar together. Add the water and vanilla. Mix well. Blend in the flour and pecans. Shape into balls. Bake on an lightly greased cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from pan and cool slightly. Roll cookies in powdered sugar. (Makes 3 dozen cookies)

    Pecans are plentiful here. Perhaps that’s why they’re my least favorite. I’ll bet a substitute nut would work. I’ve filled in for others before.

    I don’t know why it is but I always feel like drooling like homer simpson whenever I read your recipes,probably because they are sweet and I have a sweet tooth and they look absolutely tantilizing.Another great one Darla,will definately be trying this.
