Ingredients

• 1 cup margarine
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cups white sugar
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 cup boiling water
• 2 cups oatmeal
• 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
• 1 cup chocolate chips + raisins (raisins optional)

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream margarine, brown sugar and white sugar together. Stir in vanilla. Stir flour and salt together than combine with above.  Dissolve the baking soda in water and blend to above. Add oatmeal. Stir in the nuts and the chocolate chips and raisins. Drop by spoonful onto lightly greased sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 -4 dozen.
