Neiman Marcus Cookie
A women who was ripped off decided to share her secret with the world.
A woman was having a shopping outing with her mother at Neiman Marcus one day. They decided to sit down and have lunch at the Neiman Marcus luncheon area. When it came time for dessert, the woman orders a small batch of the specialty Neiman Marcus cookies. She and her mother were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the cookies were. So when the waitress came to deliver the bill, the woman asked if it were possible to receive the cookie recipe.
The waitress replied, “Most certainly ma’am. The Neiman Marcus cookie recipe costs two-fifty.”
Thinking the waitress meant two dollars and fifty cents, the woman said, “Oh wonderful! Go ahead and put that on my bill.”
A few weeks later…
The woman receives her credit card statement in the mail, and to her dismay, sees a $250 charge for a “Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe”. She calls the Neiman Marcus company, stating that the waitress did not distinguish clearly how much the recipe costs, and that she was tricked by a play-on-words.
The gentleman on the phone states, “It’s not my problem.”
Instead of getting upset, the woman takes in a deep breath and says, “Fine. You’re right. It isn’t your problem. And since I paid $250 for this recipe that I now own, I am going to send it to everyone I know, and I’m going to ask them to send it to everyone THEY know. I’m going to make sure I get my $250 dollars worth out of it.”
The man starts to says, “I wouldn’t recommend doing that…”
And she replies with, “It’s not MY problem.”
