Recipe for St. Patrick’s Day.
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 1 stick margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 1/2 tsp. green food coloring
Method
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly coat a cookie sheet with butter flavored cooking spray.
- Blend together shortening, margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in sifted flour and salt, add food coloring. Mix well.
- Roll three pieces of dough into small balls. Using your fingertips, flatten each ball into a shamrock shape. Break off a small piece of dough and make a stem. Attach the stem to the top of the shamrock.
- Once the cookies have been made into shamrock shapes, place the cookie sheet inside the oven and bake for 9 minutes.
