Snap Crackle Espresso Bean Brittle
A delightful gift for any occasion for a coffee or gourmet lover.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup espresso beans
- 3/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 Tbsp butter(unsalted)
Method
- Preheat oven to 325 and toast beans for 12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and place under plastic film or zip lock bag and smash with a mallet.
- Take a baking sheet, preferable with a 1/2 inch lip and foil.
- Lightly oil the pan with vegetable oil. Spread the beans all over the pan.
- In a sauce pan, take remaining ingredients and simmer until dissolved.
- Cook liquid until sugars turn into a beige color.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter.
- Pour over beans and let cool until hard.
