Easy Holiday Bread Pudding

Bread pudding is a simple yet delightful recipe for the holiday season. This particular recipe is a base for you to build on. It’s an easy to follow recipe that anyone can master.

Bread pudding is a wonderful holiday delight that everyone is sure to enjoy. This recipe for bread pudding will serve up to 8-10 people depending on their appetites.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt heavy cream
  • 1 qt half and half
  • 2 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 8 eggs
  • French Bread Loaves

Method

  1. With a whisk, mix all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Place to the side.
  2. Cut french bread into cubes and layer in a large baking dish
  3. Start with one layer and use half the mixture to cover the bread.
  4. Layer the remaining cubed french bread and pour the remaining mixture on top.
  5. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour in a water bath.

    I love altering those traditional reciepes. Using unusual bread, adding stuff that you wouldn’t expect – like cardamom instead of cinnamon or nutmeg ( extra dash of the fresh nutmeg will also add an unusual effect to it ) – and just playing with it.
