A Non Vegetarian Potato Chops Recipe

published by avissado on Jan 26, 2012

If you are a vegetarian then perhaps you would like to go straight to the bottom part of this recipe where I have also included a "pure vegetarian version" of my favorite Potato Chops Recipe.

Inorder to make Potato chops you will need:

1.Cooked beef mince or chicken mince or a combination of beef and pork mince. Traditionally, however potato chops are made from cooked beef mince.

2.Mashed potato flavoured with salt and pepper(optional). Use a little milk and butter for a creamier mash(it shouldn’t be too sticky though).

3.Oil for frying.

Once you have the mince and mashed potato ready, it’s really quite easy to make the chops! Here’s how: Take sufficient amount of mashed potato to form a ball(about 3 inches in diamenter). Make a small well in centre of the ball and fill with mince. Cover with potato. Flatten the potato chop on a wooden board dusted with flour and fry. When one side is brown turn the chop over in the pan and fry till both sides are brown. Serve with tomato ketchup.

For Vegetarians:

Mix a generous amount of grated cheese, chopped onion, and a few chopped corriender leaves  into the mashed potato. Shape into small flat rounds and fry. Serve with tomato ketchup or tamarind chutney.

(This is what your vegetable cutlets will look like when done and ready to eat!)

hey guys sorry I had put a picture of the cutlets at the end of the article which has not got published rendering the end sentence( which is in brackets in the recipe above) unnecessary. Apologies!
