Alcohol: Good or Bad?

Alcohol: Good or bad?

Are you a ‘drinker’  or had any problems with alcohol in the past?  Maybe someone close to you or family member has or currently had an independance?  In my opinion, it is one of the many addictive categorys to overcome.  I was consuming alcohol excessively for over 20 years, this included: strong lagers, strong white cider and sometimes spirits.  I can’t imagine what it did to my health inside my body.  Now-a-days, i still go out just for a ‘few’ and i have control to say to myself ‘NO, that’s enough for today’, when i feel the affects.  I most probably go out once maybe twice a week to my friends house and have a couple of cans just to be social.  I would like to hear your views on the subject.  Times are hard and so i can no longer afford it which i think is a good thing on my behalf, i would rather have my heating on than spend cash on alcohol.  I think that in the future i will overcome my problem with this and actually stop for good, (i hope).  Also i’me on medication so i’me advised not to have alcohol.  There has been times in the past when i tried to stop drinking but i was young and stupid and have now come to realise it was a waste of time and money and i wished i had done something else with my life, like have a  career/car/own home etc.  I can be honest and say i had some ‘fun’ times but mostly being drunk and disorderly, being in a police station overnight and waking up with hangovers, being sick, not eating are terrible experiences i have discovered and just not worth it.  I would like to wish anyone all the best in recovering with their alcohol addiction.  As i have tried and tested many solutions, i have come to realise there is only one person  that can do this and that is yourself, face your fears and all will be well.  Thanks for reading.
