Asparugus and Parma Ham
A very simple dish. It takes a few minutes to make. This is my version…….
Asparagus and Parma ham is a very simple dish. It is a perfect starter or appetizer and it cooks in 15 minutes. This is the way I like it:
It serves 3.
These are the ingredients you will need:
- 12 Asparagus (I use at least two asparagus in each bundle, depending on the size of the asparagus spears);
- 6 slices of Parma ham (one slice per bundle);
- Extra-virgin olive oil and fresh Parmisan cheese (shaved or grated);
Preparation:
Before cooking, trim the base of the asparagus spears (It is usually quite hard).
1. Blanch the asparagus spears in boiling water for 6-8 minutes or until they are tender. Then drain and refresh them under running water until cold. Dry them with kitchen paper. Wrap the asparagus spears (2 each bundle) with Parma ham.
2. Place asparagus bundles on the plates (2 bundles on each plate). Serve with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil and a few shavings of fresh Parmisan cheese.
3. Serve with toasted ciabatta or rustic bread.
Buon Appetito!
