If you are one of the many parents who have difficulty getting your child to eat fruit during the holiday season you may want to give this recipe a try.   Children of all ages love the festive red color, its healthy for them and it tastes great too.

To make Blushing Pears you will need to assemble the following ingredients;

·         8 oz. raspberry flavored gelatin

·         4 ripe pears

Begin by adding 4 cups of water and 8 ounces of raspberry gelatin to large sauce pan.   Place the sauce pan onto the stove and using medium-high heat.   Bring the mixture to a rolling boil.   Be sure to stir the mixture frequently in order to properly dissolve the gelatin.

Next take 4 firm peeled ripe pears and place them into the sauce pan with the gelatin mixture.  Partially cover the sauce pan with a lid and reduce the heat to medium low.   Allow the pears to simmer for 20 minutes, stirring them every 10 minutes.   Once the pears are tender remove them from the gelatin and then refrigerate them overnight.   When you are ready to serve the pears plate them up in a festive holiday dish and garnish with a dollop of whipped topping.
