When pumpkin season begins, take advantage of this rich source of vitamins and minerals. To name just a few, pumpkin is loaded with vitamins A and E that are responsible for fighting wrinkles and aging. It is a vegetable that has the highest content of ferrum, which improves face complexion.

High content of potassium makes pumpkin an excellent diet supplement for people with cardio-vascular disease. Pumpkin improves heart work, strengthens blood vessels and also contains vitamin K that plays a vital role in blood coagulation.

Pumpkin is widely used in skin care as an ingredient that nourishes and renews skin. The recipe of pumpkin mask for dry skin is simple: beat up 2 tbs of boiled pumpkin and mix with 1 tbs of olive oil. Apply the mixture to your face, keep it for 20 minutes and then wash it with cool water.

My favorite pumpkin meal is a boiled pumpkin. Peel pumpkin’s skin and cut pumpkin into small cubes. Putthem in a sauce pan and add water so that it covers pumpkin half an inch. Boil pumpkin on slow fire about 10minutes. Add a pinch of salt and sugar. When pumpkin is almost ready, add two tbs of semolina and half of abutter stick and let it boil another 5 minutes. Remember stirring it frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the sauce pan. If the boiled pumpkin doesn’t sweet enough for your taste, add a spoon or two of honey.

Enjoy a healthy pumpkin meal and happy Halloween!
