Gena’s Seven Easy Ways to Cook for a Healthy Sweet Sexy Body

published by thuanynguyen on Dec 30, 2009

The easy way to get the body you want for summer? Remember to always Embrace the one you have. Knowing your body type is key to finding the best diet and exercise plan for you. Here are just some healthy simple and easy to make food for the sexy summer body you want.

1     Bake it…

-          To make Sweet potato fries, done by cutting it up into slices and seasoning with olive oil, pepper and a dash of salt.

-          To make a sweet snack. Use Peaches and slice it in half, then drizzle on some honey and sprinkle with nuts and ginger (optional).

-          For Lunch bake a potato, and top it up with diced broccoli and then sprinkle it with some cheese.

-        For Desert bake and an apple. Get an Apple and fill the core with dried fruit and nuts and bake it.

2     Boil …

-          To boil and crush/dice tomatoes in vegetable soup or chicken broth for the making of the base of a great homemade tomato soup! Add fresh herbs and spices to make your own unique recipe, try to limit your cream  (as I love cream)

-          To boil apples and add lemon juice and cinnamon then mash it all up and serve warm or chilled. (optional to serve with low fat frozen yogurt)

-          Boil Turnips, Carrots and potatoes. Then mash them all together and season with salt and pepper. (optional Chicken salt)

-          Boil up farmer’s cabbage (Kale), and add in about ½ cup of nuts and a handful of chopped currants, salt and pepper to flavour

-          Boil up some Butternut squash/pumpkin and season with salt, mixed herbs, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

3     Steam …

-          Steam some Artichokes for about an hour to get the full flavours of the leaves, as they are perfect for dipping! You can use anything to dip it in, like an almond pate.

-          Steam any of your favourite vegetables with lemon or lime juice and keep the zest and add it to the water to create a new bold flavour. Try lemon juice with spinach or bok choy, or oranges with broccoli or cauliflower or grapefruit with carrots! (healthy yet yummy)

-          Steam up a mixture of vegetables and season with some herbs. Serve over couscous or some crunchy crotons

-          Steam up some Cabbage and then season it with caraway seed, salt and pepper.

-          Steam up Green beans or Long Beans with chopped up onions and spring onions. Add a smashed clove of garlic to the cooking water for a sensational smell.

4     Stir-Fry …

-          Stir fry up some Pineapple, oranges and mango in a honey and ginger sauce for a perfect topping to low fat or fat-free ice cream.

-          Stir fry some Zucchini, squash, diced tomatoes and mushrooms with mixed herbs and some olive oil then add some diced jalapeno (or chillies) for an extra kick and serve over brown rice. (optional if you don’t like chillies or Jalapeno, then add heaps of pepper)

-          Stir fry some Broccoli in olive oil and about 2 chopped garlic (Add some capers for extra flavour).

-          Stir fry some Frozen mixed veggies and then add a dash of low sodium soy sauce and add in some herbs.

5       Sauté …

-          Sauté some peeled pear and apple slices in a skillet with very little butter until  just tender. Add in some marmalade and orange slices, then remove from heat and serve for a fruity dessert, you can serve it with some low fat yoghurt as well

-          Sauté some Bok Choy with some garlic and add light soy sauce..

-          Sauté some Spinach with garlic and olive oil.

-          Sauté a variety of different colour of peppers, capsicums, heaps of onion and mushrooms, and then serve as a side dish.

6       Roast …

-          Toss a couple of potatoes in a mixture of olive oil, garlic and rosemary and then Roast them in the ove, till just tender as its a mouth-watering side to any meal!

-          Get some winter vegetables and cut cut in large pieces and lightly coat it with olive oil, and sprinkle it with some of your favourite herbs, and roast  it in the oven on medium heat until tender and browned.(I prefer – parsnips, turnips, rutabaga, beets, sweet potato are some good choices.)

-          Roast some Brussels Sprouts drizzled lightly with olive oil, and sprinkled with salt. Yummy!

-          Roast some really Thin slices of sweet potato to make chips.

7      Grill …

-          Grill some Mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and tenderloin for the perfect summer kebabs.

-          Grill some Corn on the cob. You can peel and coat the corn in a mixture of seasonings such as oregano, pepper, onions and salt with a touch of butter to help it stick. Wrap in aluminium foil and grill until tender. Yummy!!

-          Grill some Pineapple, peaches, strawberries or mango. Top with a dollop of low-fat ice cream, frozen yogurt or sherbet ice cream.

-          Grill some eggplant, zucchini and portabella mushrooms to use in a wrap.

If you have the will to change, then you’ll be able to change, by eating healthy and exercising regularly, you’ll improve the way you feel, this will result in you being more productive with your time. You won’t want to sit around as much, and eventually exercise will become your friend.

When you are down in life, some of the times you may rely on people to bring you back up. I have come to reply on exercise, it’s my best friend, it never lets you down, and it’s always there for you.
