How to Cook "Humba"

"Humba" is a dish in Mindanao which is so delicious.

HUmba is a dish with pork as the main ingredient.  The pork should have fat in it.  Pork fat actually makes this dish delicious.  I would like to share on how to cook it.  This is my favorite dish.

These are the ingredients.  Pork with fat, soy sauce, water, pineapple juice/sprite/7up, vinegar, brown sugar, dried banana flower, peppercorn, laurel leaves, garlic. Optional ingredients are ripe saba banana or cooked egg. The measurement of these liquid ingredients and the brown sugar depend on the quantity of the pork or to the cook.  Be sure that they have the same measurements, if you’ll be using 1 cup, be sure that the other liquid ingredients and brown sugar should also be 1 cup.  Mix all the ingredients and place in a pot and cook in low fire until the pork is very tender.  You should select only one among the pineapple juice, sprite and 7up.
