Next time you go to the market to shop for your fresh vegetables, keep in mind that some of these vegetables can be planted right into your garden! Any vegetable that will “root” or has roots on them can be planted. Green Onions and Garlic are a couple that be planted into your garden as soon as you bring them home.

Plant them as you would any plant with the roots of thr plant in the soil, leaving the tops above ground. Your produce will double in size as it begins to grow.

Fresh herbs can also be planted. However you will first want to start the rooting process before hand by placing them in a small container of water and set near a window. Once rooted, plant them along with all the rest in your garden.
