How to Make Dumplings – Crispy On The Outside, Moist and Juicy On The Inside!

To make the dumplings from scratch, you will need the following ingredients:

ground pork

cabbage, chopped finely

carrots, chopped finely

onions, chopped finely

garlic, chopped finely

optional: chopped shrimp, green onions

salt and pepper

wonton wrapper

Procedure on how to make the dumplings:

Mix all the ingredients, and wrap each dumpling using the wonton wrapper.

Tip:

Make lots of dumplings so you can freeze some, for those nights when you are running out of ideas on what to cook for dinner!  These dumplings will come in handy!

Here’s how to cook your dumplings so they have a crispy skin on the outside and juicy filling on the inside.  This works well even if your dumplings are frozen.  There’s no need to defrost the dumplings prior to cooking.

Heat up oil on a non-stick pan.

When oil is hot, put the dumplings in, flat side down.  You will hear a nice sizzling sound.

Let the dumplings stay on the pan until the skin turns slightly brown.

Add water to the pan, enough to cover about 1/4 height of the dumplings.

Once you add the water you will hear an even louder sizzling sound.  That’s great!

Just let the dumplings stay on the pan and let the water continue cooking the dumplings.

Leave the pan uncovered.

The water will seep through the dumplings while cooking, therefore making them moist and juicy.

Then the water on the surface will slowly evaporate.

Once the water is evaporates, the dumplings’ skin will continue to brown since the heat is still on and there’s oil in the pan.

Slowly the skin will turn golden brown and crispy.

Turn the dumplings to brown the other sides.

Serve your dumplings immediately, nice and hot!

This is great potluck idea too!
