Lentils and Sprouts Savouries

Urad dal spinach and sprouts vada

INGREDIENTS:

 

·         2 cups of urad dal

·         1cup of chopped spinach

·         ½ cup of sprouts

·         Green chilies chopped- optional

·         1 tablespoon of ginger paste

·         ½ tablespoon of red chili powder

·         Oil for deep frying

·         Salt to taste

 

METHOD:

 

Soak the urad dal in water for 3-4 hours and then grind into a paste. Keep in a mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Keep beating with your fingers so that the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Heat enough oil for deep frying and drop small portions into hot oil and cook on a medium flame till the vadas are light golden brown and cooked from the inside as well. Fry 5-6 vadas at a time. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
