Lulu’s Famous Southern Baked Christmas Ham

Preparation Time–10 minutes
Cooking Time–45 minutes – 1 i/2 hour
Oven Temperature–300-350 degrees F
Ingredients–One ready salted ham 10-15 lbs.
One lb. of dark brown sugar
Two jars of pitted cherries
Two cans of pineapple slices
1. Place ham in a large roasting pan with the skin side up. Make sure you place the roasting thermometerinto the thickest part of the ham and make sure it does not touch the bone.
2. Cover the roasting pan with foil and bake the ham for 30 minutes.
3. After baking for 30 minutes remove the ham from the oven and remove the skin. Drain the juice from the pan.
4. In a large bowl mix one lb. of brown sugar and the two jars of pitted cherries with the juice. Add the pineapple juice and mix well until sugar is dissolved. Set the pineapple slices aside.
5. Pour sugar mixture over the ham and place the pineapple slices over and around the ham.
6. Cover the ham with foil and bake for another 30 minutes-1 hour, when your roasting thermometer reaches 170 degrees F your ham is ready to enjoy.
