This is an old recipe for the traditional bread and potato stuffing. Very delicious!

Mother Mary’s Traditional Bread And Potato Stuffing.

  • 6 slices of dried, homemade white  bread
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups mashed potato, cooled
  • 2 tablespoon of summer savory
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 chicken stock or water.
  1. Melt butter in a large skillet. Fry the onion, add salt & pepper.
  2. In a large bowl break up the bread slices into little cubes.
  3. Add mashed potato.
  4. Now mix with hands until your are able to shape into balls.
  5. Bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 15 minutes or until brown.
