One Apple Applesauce for Pork

published by Lola6123 on Feb 6, 2011

Serving pork and forgot to buy apple sauce, never fear, got an apple? You’re halfway there!

Ingredients:

1 Apple

5 ml (1tsp) water

.5 Tbs unsalted butter, or light margarine

Instructions:

  • Peel and slice the apple and place in a small micro-wave bowl
  • Add the water and the butter/margarine
  • Cover with plastic wrap
  • Microwave on high setting for 1.5 to 2.5 minutes, depending on microwave – apples should be mushy
  • Let cool for 2 minutes
  • Remove plastic wrap and mash with a fork
  • Serves 2-3 people

With thanks to Mme. Jeanne Benoit! This is based on a recipe of hers, modified to suit the modern age!
