Raita

Raita is a yoghurt sauce that is full of salad and really compliment the taste of the authentic asian dish of Pilau rice.

In a previous article, I gave the recipe for Pilau rice and ended the recipe suggesting that it could be served with raita. Raita is a simple but tasty yoghurt sauce which gives a nice kick to the taste of the pilau rice. It really is well worth making and will really impress your dinner guests.

Raita

Ingredients

 One pot of plain yoghurt

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 spoon of mint sauce

cucumber

onion

tomato

lettuce

1. Pour the yoghurt into a bowl. Add the salt and mint sauce.

2. Dice an onion, cucumber and tomato and add to the yoghurt.

3. Finely chop 2 lettuce leaves and also add.

4. Thoroughly mix together.

Note: If you find that the salad has made the sauce too thick then just add a little milk.
