Salmon and Noodles Recipe

published by ehna72 on Feb 8, 2011

Here is an easy sauteed recipe I made up using a few basic ingredients. This time, I used canned salmon for a tasty and quickly prepared meal.

This is my quick and tasty meal of salmon and transparent bean noodles.

In this Filipino recipe, you can use leftover ingredients in your kitchen. I used for my main ingredient, canned salmon. It’s easy to prepare and cook, so if you’re really hungry, this recipe can be a quick fix for your rumbling belly.

Ingredients

1 canned salmon (salted)

1/8 kg green beans (sliced into small strips)

1 small carrot (sliced into small strips)

some achuete seeds or powder (for color)

1 handful of transparent bean noodles (locally known as sotanghon)

1 large onion (diced)

5 cloves of garlic (minced)

cooking oil

1 dash or two of black pepper

salt

2 cups water

How to Cook

Soak the achuete in water for 15 minutes to bring out the color. Set it aside. Also place the bean noodles in water to soften them up before cooking. Saute your garlic and onions. Add the salmon chunks. Add salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for five minutes. Then, add the green beans and carrots. Add a half cup of water. Wait until the beans and carrot slices are cooked. Add a little bit more water. Add the sotanghon and achuete coloring. Simmer for another five minutes. Done! Serve this with hot rice. Come on. Let’s eat!

I like it. Salmon puwede rin na isama sa pag pansit o di kaya spaghetti – kasi puwede siya sa noodles.
