Strawberry Marmalade

No reason to consume preservatives when anyone can make his own delicious marmalade. It is so simple.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of strawberries topped, cleaned and halved
  • 700 grams of sugar
  • Lemon juice from half lemon

    Method

  1. Put the strawberries into a large pot and cover with sugar.
  2. Let stand for some hours or during the night.
  3. Cook in high temperature. Be careful about the foam that occurs during the beginning of the cooking.
  4. Cook until the desired density and add the lemon juice 1-2 minutes before the end of cooking. (Keep in mind that marmalades when cool down are much more dense)
  5. Fill clean jars and keep them into the refrigerator for more lasting.

If we prefer pieces of strawberries to remain in the marmalade we halve only the big ones. In other case we slice all strawberries in 3 or 4 pieces.
