Strawberry Pie

1 1/2 quarts strawberries (can be half fresh and half frozen)

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked

Wash and mash 1/2 the strawberries. Heat; add sugar and cornstarch (mixed). Boil 8 minutes. Wash and pat dry the other 1/2 strawberries (these must be fresh)–fit into the pie shell. Pour strawberry “goop” over hot–serve with ice or whipped cream.
