Here in Louisiana the popular Creole tomato is grown by many farmers and even in backyards. The Creole tomato plant is the official Louisiana state vegetable plant.

Tomatoes are known around the world. Some people consider them to be a fruit, while others argue that they are a vegetable. Tomatoes are actually classified as a fruit.

Tomatoes contain lycopene. Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant. Tomatoes also provide a good source of vitamin A and C. Tomatoes can be an important of your diet. They contain carbohydrates, protein, fiber, and sugar. Tomatoes contain water and they are very juicy. Sop, sauce, paste, ketchup, juice pizza, salsa, and raw tomatoes are a good way to add them to your diet.

Fried green tomatoes have a wonderful taste. Tomatoes make a perfect healthy snack. Tomatoes are known to be good for the heart and also prevent prostate cancer. Tomatoes come in many different varieties, shapes, colors, and sizes. They are also easy to store at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

The Creole tomato is rich to our culture here in Louisiana. A genuine Creole tomato is only grown here in the rich soil of south Louisiana. These Creole tomatoes will be large, juicy, red, with a bit of a tangy taste. The Creole tomato festival is celebrated in the month of June here in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is a very big celebration.

The soil is very rich in the south of Louisiana and Creole tomatoes are only grown here. The Creole tomato is very unique.

There is an excellent recipe for salsa made with the Creole tomato and it is delicious served with your favorite chips.

4 chopped Creole tomatoes

1 tablespoon chopped garlic

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

1 jalapeno pepper seeded and diced

Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and chill for 1 hour. Serve with your favorite chips.

The French Market in New Orleans sell the Creole tomatoes. They are enjoyed and are a favorite all over Louisiana.

Creole tomatoes are also used to make a delicious sauce for spaghetti. They are also canned and enjoyed even when they are not in season. So even though tomatoes are classified as a fruit they are usually eaten and cooked as if they are a vegetable.

You have to come to Louisiana to experience this unique, delicious tomato. They are really a delight to everyone who tries them.
