Three Too Easy Fruity Recipes

These are just creative ways to eat pears, papayas and mangoes. Simple, simple, simple and Oh so good.

Tasha’s Pears

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of pear halves
  • A few (or as much as you want) maraschino cherries
  • ¼ C. Cheddar cheese, shredded

Preparation:

Chill pears. Sprinkle cheese over pears and top with maraschino cherries.

Lemon Papaya

Ingredients:

  • 1 large papaya
  • 4 tsp. sugar
  • 1 lemon

Preparation:

Cut papaya into bite-size pieces. Squeeze lemon over papaya pieces and sprinkle with sugar. Mix gently. Chill for 1 hour.

Rujak (Indonesian Vegetable Dip)

Ingredients:

  • 1 mango
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 Granny Smith apple
  • 4 Tbsp. white sugar
  • ¼ C. sweet soya sauce (ketjap)
  • 1 tsp. sambel oelek (hot chili sauce)
  • 1 tsp. tamarind

Preparation:

Mix the sugar, sweet ketjap, sambel oelek, and tamarind together in a bowl. Slice up the mango, cucumber and apple and dip into the sauce.
